I am doing a heart of a poet blog post.
Boost

Kathy Mackel
How far shall I go,
to boost up my play?
Workout a little more,
practice some more.
How far will I go,
to boost up my play?
Maybe just a sip,
it wouldn't hurt.
How far will I allow myself,
to boost up my play?
Whatever it takes to be the best.
How far will my team allow
me to boost up my play?
Whatever it takes,
because they are doing the same.
How far will my parents allow
me boost up my play?
They don't have to
know about it.
But what is best for me.
If a take a sip like the rest of the team,
is that really what is best for me.
Is it considered cheating?
I wrote this poem because she is conflicting with herself whether or not she should have the drink that is boosting up her teammates game. The first four lines is talking about how far should she go to make her play better. The next four lines are talking about how far will she go. She doesn't want to drink it, but if it gets her more energy she might consider it. The next four lines are about how far should and will she allow herself to play better. The rest of the poem is basically what her team and parents would think if she started to drink what the rest of the team she drinking. Then the last part is her thinking about if it is worth it and if it is kind of cheating.
