Ask Me No Questions

In this book Nadira and her sister's relationship isn't the greatest. They don't get along, her parents seem to like her sister better than her. Nadira is also 'bullied' by her family members. They put her down by always complimenting her sister instead of her, they say she is too fat and needs to lose weight. They made a comment to her, they basically said that if they ever had to run that she wouldn't be able to keep up. Her uncle also doesn't like how she is always believing what father says. Her father also makes promises to Aisha (the sister) about how they will get her to college. They never ever have a nice comment to say to Nadira. This makes me very bad because they may not like her as much as Aisha, but they should still say nice things to her. It puts herself of esteem down. It is not right to put a child down especially if they are already going through a hard time. I also feel sad for Nadira, she already has to go through trying to find a place to call him and now her family doesn't notice her. People need to realize that this can lead people to kill themselves. They might start to feel like they aren't worth anything, that they are a waste of space. One thing a parent should do is support their child's dreams, lift them up when they are feeling down. Obliviously Nadira's parents and family members don't realize what they are doing to her.
